Colliers International has facilitated large brokerage deal in St. Petersburg retail market. Sportmaster (the leader of retail and wholesale sporting goods market in Russia and the CIS) leased 4.2 thousand sq. m in Grand Canyon shopping and entertainment center. These premises were previously occupied by Santa House. Colliers International represented the interests of the owner of Grand Canyon.
Superregional shopping and entertainment center Grand Canyon is one of the most successful shopping centers in St. Petersburg. In April 2010 a furniture center with total area 30 thousand sq.m is scheduled to open as part of Grand Canyon. Colliers' brokers have already started working on attracting tenants. Colliers has been participating the project since 2001: from the idea to the opening. According to Nikolay Kazanskiy, general director of Colliers International St.-Petersburg, this deal is a confirmation of the fact that successful projects such like this one are still interesting for big tenants, even in crisis time.
